I work with a school now, we made a box for worms. It's got boards on the sides and is lined with plastic, should be great.

This is an
amaranth plant. It's pretty amazing in terms of the nutritive contents of the leaves and seeds that it produces. It's also relatively easy to grow, doesn't need a lot of water or fertilizing. It's a good thing for malnutrition.
Here's a linseed plant. We were harvesting the seeds yeaterday off of a number of plants, they use them medicinally (not smoked or snorted).

jake, i have a question about your worms: is it true that they turn dirt into gold or do they merely cause the grower of the worms such delight that the THINK they have gold in their giant wooden box with plastic lining? in other words, are you delusional?

good question joshua. many wonder the same thing when i write that said worms are "gold" or that they turn manure INTO "gold". Have you ever seen a million dollars¿

I read more about the amaranth plant, and it has quite a history! Can I grow it here? Have you eaten its seeds or leaves?
i've had a drink that is made partly of the seeds. the people here eat the leaves in soups or in "tamalitos" which is kind of like a tamale. we've told people to take the seed and grind it up and mix some of the flour in with their tortilla flour.
